Best social media tools for small business (2026)
Short answer
The best social media tools for a small business in 2026 depend on the job. Canva, CapCut and Adobe Express make posts and have free plans. Buffer, Metricool and Meta Business Suite schedule them for free or a few dollars. AI tools start near $19 a month. A done-for-you studio like Klipt costs €300 a month. Prices checked October 2026.
This guide is for owners of a café, a salon, a shop or a small practice who post on social media themselves. You will see 12 tools grouped by the job they do, what each one costs today, what it does well and where it stops. At the end, a table helps you pick by budget and by the time you really have.
What are the best social media tools for small businesses in 2026?
There is no single best tool: you need one to make posts, one to schedule them, and maybe one to write them. The table below lists the entry price of each tool as shown on its own pricing page on 20 October 2026.
Prices are the lowest paid plan. "Billed yearly" means you pay 12 months up front for that monthly rate. Some pages showed us euros because of where we opened them; your local price can differ.

Which tools help you make posts and videos?
Canva, CapCut and Adobe Express are the three most common ways to make a post yourself, and all three have a free plan. You still choose the idea, the photo and the words: the tool only makes it look clean.
Canva
- What it does: a design tool with templates for posts, carousels, stories and short videos. Paid plans include a Social Content Planner to schedule posts (Canva pricing, 2026).
- Price from: free plan; Pro is $18 a month or $144 a year for one person; Pro+, the team plan, costs more per person (checked Oct 2026; in France Pro is €12 a month and Pro+ €17).
- Best for: owners who want good-looking posts fast with no design skills.
- Limits: popular templates are widely used, so posts can look like everyone else's. Only one person can use a Pro account.
CapCut
- What it does: a video editor for phone and desktop, built for reels and TikToks, with captions, effects and AI tools.
- Price from: free plan; Pro is €23.99 a month or €199.99 a year on the pricing page we saw (CapCut pricing, 2026).
- Best for: anyone who films with a phone and wants clean reels with subtitles.
- Limits: AI video generation is capped by plan. Editing a good reel still takes time, even with templates.
Adobe Express
- What it does: Adobe's simple design app for posts, flyers and short videos, with Adobe fonts and stock photos.
- Price from: free plan, no card needed; Premium is €11.99 a month incl. VAT on the French page (Adobe Express pricing, 2026). For other countries, see the pricing page.
- Best for: owners who already use Adobe tools or want a Canva alternative.
- Limits: the price changes by country, and like Canva you still choose the idea, the photo and the words.
Which tools schedule and manage your accounts?
Buffer, Later, Hootsuite, Agorapulse, Metricool and Meta Business Suite let you plan posts in advance so you do not post by hand each day. For one business with two or three accounts, the free plans of Buffer, Metricool or Meta Business Suite often do the job.
Buffer
- What it does: schedules posts to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads, X and more (Buffer pricing, 2026).
- Price from: free for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel; Essentials is $5 a month per channel.
- Best for: a small business that wants simple scheduling at a low price.
- Limits: the price is per channel, so 3 accounts on Essentials is $15 a month. It does not make the posts.
Later
- What it does: a visual planner for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat.
- Price from: Starter is $18.75 a month billed yearly, with 1 social set (8 profiles), 1 user and 5 AI credits a month (Later pricing, 2026).
- Best for: shops and brands that plan their Instagram grid and TikToks visually.
- Limits: no free plan, only a 14-day trial. Starter caps posts at 30 per profile.
Hootsuite
- What it does: a full social media manager: scheduling, a shared inbox, analytics and team approvals.
- Price from: Standard starts at $99 a month per user, billed yearly, for 10 accounts (Hootsuite plans, 2026).
- Best for: businesses with a team or many accounts.
- Limits: expensive for a solo owner, no free plan (14-day trial). Most of its features are more than a café needs.
Agorapulse
- What it does: scheduling, a unified inbox for comments and messages, and reports, built for teams and agencies.
- Price from: Standard is $79 per user a month billed yearly, or $99 billed monthly, with 10 social profiles (Agorapulse pricing, 2026).
- Best for: a business where someone answers comments and messages every day.
- Limits: per-user pricing adds up. The page says a free plan stays available after the 30-day trial, but does not list its limits.
Metricool
- What it does: planning, scheduling and analytics for your accounts, with competitor tracking.
- Price from: free plan for 1 brand with 20 scheduled posts a month (no LinkedIn or X on free); Starter from $20 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly (Metricool pricing, 2026).
- Best for: owners who want to see what works, not only schedule.
- Limits: the free plan is small. Analytics only help if you have time to read them.
Meta Business Suite
- What it does: Meta's own tool to schedule posts and stories on Facebook and Instagram, reply to messages and see insights (Meta Business Help Center, 2026).
- Price from: free.
- Best for: a business that only uses Facebook and Instagram.
- Limits: no TikTok, LinkedIn or Google. It does not help you make the post.
Can AI tools make your social media posts for you?
Yes, AI tools like Predis.ai and Ocoya write captions and draft images or short videos from a prompt, from about $19 a month. You still check every draft, fix the facts about your business and decide what goes out.
Predis.ai
- What it does: generates posts, carousels and short videos from a text prompt, with captions and hashtags.
- Price from: Core is $19 a month billed yearly or $32 billed monthly, with 1,300 credits (about 325 images or 33 videos) for 1 brand (Predis.ai pricing, 2026).
- Best for: owners who want a stack of drafts to choose from.
- Limits: no free plan, a 3-day trial that needs a card. Core does not include auto posting.
Ocoya
- What it does: AI copywriting for captions plus scheduling to your accounts.
- Price from: Starter is $29 a month for 1 user, 5 social profiles and 300 credits (Ocoya pricing, 2026).
- Best for: owners who write captions slowly and want help plus a calendar.
- Limits: no free plan, a 7-day trial with a card. AI text needs your real offers and tone, or it sounds generic.

What if you want someone else to make the content?
A done-for-you service makes and publishes the posts, and you only approve them. It costs more than software but much less than a person: a freelance manager charges $750 to $1,500 a month for 1 or 2 networks and 3 to 5 posts a week (SolidGigs, 2026).
Klipt Studio (that's us)
- What it does: an AI-powered studio, supervised by people, that makes 30 pieces a month (reels, carousels, posts, stories, LinkedIn documents) from your website, photos, offers and tone. Each post waits on your phone with the reason behind it; one tap approves it, and nothing goes out without a yes. It is then published on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest or YouTube Shorts.
- Price from: €300 a month excl. VAT, one plan, monthly, cancel anytime (Klipt offer).
- Best for: owners who have no time to make posts but want one every day.
- Limits: no free plan, and €300 is far more than a scheduler. Klipt does not reply to comments or direct messages yet. We promise a professional post every day, not new customers.

Do tools save you from making the content?
No. Tools save time on design and posting, but someone still has to find the idea, take the photo and write the words every week. That is the part most owners do not have time for.
The numbers show the gap. In a survey by Fiverr of nearly 6,000 small-business owners in 25 countries, 70% said they spend less than five hours a week on their marketing (Fiverr via Stock Titan, 2025). Meanwhile, Instagram accounts posting 6 to 9 times a week grew followers about 3.7 times faster than accounts posting once or twice (Buffer, 2025), based on 2.1 million posts.
So a scheduler with an empty calendar does nothing. Before you pay for software, ask who will fill it. If the answer is "me, on Sunday night", start with free plans and a simple routine. Our guide on how often a restaurant should post on Instagram gives a realistic rhythm.
Which tool should you pick for your budget and time?
Pick by two things: how much you can spend each month and how much time you can give each week. If you have time but no budget, free tools are enough. If you have budget but no time, pay someone or something to make the posts.
The monthly costs below come from the prices above. Example: Canva Pro ($18) plus Buffer Essentials for 3 channels ($15) is $33 a month.
| Your situation | Budget per month | Your time each week | Good fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Just starting, 1 or 2 accounts | $0 | A lot: you make and post everything | Canva Free + Meta Business Suite or Buffer Free |
| You post often and want it to look better | About $33 | A lot: you still make every post | Canva Pro + Buffer Essentials |
| You want to see what works | About $20 to $40 | Some: planning plus reading stats | Metricool Starter + Canva Free |
| You hate writing captions | About $19 to $50 | Some: you check and fix AI drafts | Predis.ai or Ocoya + Canva Free |
| A team answers messages daily | $79 to $99 per user | Team time | Agorapulse or Hootsuite |
| You have no time to make posts | €300 excl. VAT | Little: you approve, or review the week at once | Klipt Studio (that's us) |
| You want a person for everything, DMs included | $750 to $1,500 | Little | A freelance manager (SolidGigs, 2026) |

FAQ
What is the best free social media tool for a small business?
For making posts, Canva Free. For scheduling, Meta Business Suite if you only use Facebook and Instagram, or Buffer Free for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each (checked October 2026).
Is Hootsuite worth it for a small business?
For a solo owner, usually not: it starts at $99 a month per user, billed yearly, as of October 2026. It makes sense when a team manages many accounts and needs shared approvals.
Can AI make all my social media posts?
AI tools such as Predis.ai and Ocoya draft posts and captions, but you still check facts, prices and tone before anything goes out. Without your real photos and offers, AI posts tend to look generic.
How much should a small business spend on social media tools?
A small business can run on $0 to about $35 a month with free plans plus Canva Pro. The bigger cost is the time to make posts; if that is the problem, a done-for-you service or a freelancer solves it, not more software.
Does Klipt Studio replace a scheduler like Buffer?
Yes for publishing: Klipt makes the posts and publishes them on the networks you choose, so you do not need a separate scheduler. It does not reply to comments or messages yet.
